Altar Servers

Assist the priest during mass one or more time per month. Training and formation is offered twice a year and is required. Membership is open to boys and girls grade 5 through 12.

An Altar Server is a young person (a boy or a girl) who is invited by the parish to assist the priest at the Eucharist (Mass) and other liturgies of the Church.

The ministry of Altar Server is open to all Catholic boys and girls who have have been Baptized and received First Communion. You or your family must also be registered as members of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.

Training and formation for the ministry of Altar Server is offered several times a year by Peggy Allen our English speaking coordinator and Marianne Avalos at St. Frances and by Mrs. Lisa Villa at St. Rose of Lima. Those classes include learning the movements and gestures and other skills required for serving at liturgies as well as gaining an understanding and knowledge of the Mass and its parts.

Coordination, supervision and training is under the direction of Mrs. Peggy Allen, Mrs. Hillary Muller, Marianne Avalos and Mrs. Lisa Villa at St. Rose of Lima

Lectors & Eucharistic Ministers

A group of fellow parishioners who have volunteered their time to either proclaim the scriptures at Mass or to assist in the distribution of the Eucharist. They serve both, the English and Spanish speaking communities at St. Frances.

  • Serving as a liturgical minister offers the lector and eucharistic minister the opportunity to develop their spiritual life more fully.
  • It also provides the direct interaction with the other members of St. Frances Cabrini faith community.
  • A training workshop in each ministry is normally offered annually.

St. Frances Parish Choirs & Musical Groups

We are enriched with the presence of our Music Groups, the Folk Choir of the 9 am Mass and the Spanish Choir,  that with the other musicians and cantors enhance the liturgy of our Sunday Masses and major feast days, providing an atmosphere conducive to prayer and worship.

Over the years the Choirs have led and participated in many fund raising activities which enabled the purchase their music and instruments used in the liturgical services.

The Choirs' repertoire is large in scope, ranging from Gregorian Chant to the very modern. It includes music from various cultures as well as contemporary music written especially for the group.

For Rehearsals times, please check the weekly bulletin for updated information.

Adults with some choral singing experience are welcome to join.

Anyone interested in joining any of these groups should make themselves known after Mass, or leave your name and phone number with the Parish office, specifying which Mass group you are interested in.

Coordinators of Music Ministry:  Mrs. Debbie Chappie, Mrs. Beth Stanley and Mr. Abel Gomez

Ushers/Ministers of Hospitality

The purpose of the ushers to welcome parishioners as they come for worship and to guide them to vacant seats; they also to take up the collections. They assign parishioners to present the gifts of bread and wine at the Offertory. When the church is crowded, they assist in the orderly progression of communicants to the Eucharistic Ministers. Before and after Masses bulletins are distributed and pews are checked for items left behind. Assistance is given to new parishioners with small children in locating the "crying room". Ushers also assist those who wish to sign the register and become members of the parish.
