Born in Mexico City in 1945. Fr. Juan's only brother, Joaquin, resides in Mexico City. Fr. Juan went to elementary and High School at Jesuit "Instituto Patria". After one year of College he began his seminary studies in Europe: in Dublin, Ireland, Salamanca, Spain, and Rome, Italy where he was ordained to the Priesthood in December 24, 1972. After his ordination in 1972 he went to minister to the north of Mexico, to Monterrey N.L. where he did Catholic School related ministry and in his summer time he enjoyed going to do missionary work with the Maya Indians in the Yucatan Peninsula; during 1980 he did only missionary work and in January 1981 he came to America. He served at Immaculate Conception Parish in Miami, Fl., until the summer of 1982; he came to the Fort Worth Diocese and he was the Director of the Cursillo Center and the Office of Hispanic Ministry until 1984; then he was assigned as Pastor of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Fort Worth. In 1988 he was appointed as Pastor of St. Jude Catholic Church in Mansfield TX. and in the summer of 1996 he came to Immaculate Conception Parish in Denton, TX. leaving this parish at the end of May of 2000 to his present assignment: Pastor of St. Frances Cabrini in Granbury and St. Rose of Lima in Glen Rose. During his time in the Diocese of Fort Worth he has served in numerous diocesan boards and commissions and in 2006 Bishop Kevin Van appointed him as Vicar for Clergy of the Diocese of Fort Worth. | | |  |  | Notice | Celebrate Recovery Starts in September |  |
