| | Jim was born in Cameron, Texas in 1941. He was reared in Waco and graduated from Baylor University with a degree in business administration, majoring in marketing. While a student, he was active in the Newman Club at Baylor. After graduation in 1964, he joined the Air Force and was commissioned a second lieutenant. After training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, he served at assignments in Alabama, California (where he and Maureen met), Thailand, the Pentagon, and finally at Bergstrom AFB in Austin. There, he resigned his commission to be home more with the family. After leaving active duty with the Air Force, Jim went to work for the City of Austin as Manager of the Materials Control Division. He retired in 1997. While they were stationed in Washington, D. C., Maureen and Jim’s two daughters, Catherine and Kristine, were born. Maureen and Jim have four grandchildren and a fifth one is due in February 2003.
Jim was ordained in Austin on July 14, 1984 and served for fourteen years in his home parish in Austin until the bishop reassigned him to a parish in Manor, Texas, which is just outside of Austin. In March of 2002, Maureen and Jim relocated in Granbury to settle near one of their daughters who lives with her family in Cedar Hill south of Dallas. Since he and Maureen moved to Granbury, Jim has been occupied with remodeling their home and landscaping the grounds. His hobbies, gardening and wood working, are finally beginning to pay off. Maureen and Jim enjoy traveling and have pulled their fifth wheel travel trailer on a couple of extended trips to visit Maureen’s family in California. Other trips have been for camping in relatively nearby state parks. | | | | | Notice | Celebrate Recovery Starts in September | |
