Melissa Perez is currently the part-time Coordinator of Youth Ministry for our C.R.O.S.S. (6th - 8th grade) Program.
She started working for St. Frances Cabrini around 13 years ago when she and her husband were asked to take over as C.Y.O. directors. She remembers praying a lot and asking God if this is what she was supposed to do. I guess you can say she got her answer, since she is still at St. Frances. She has always enjoyed children, thus, youth ministry soon became one of her heart’s joys. Over the years, she has been able to share so many special events and projects with the youth. Through youth ministry, she has found a way to help children through some of the hardest years of their lives and also bring them closer to God. Melissa was born and raised in San Antonio and moved to Granbury after her matrimony. She has always enjoyed listening to music, dancing, reading and swimming. She enjoys spending any kind of time with her family. Her favorite get away is a trip to the beach, where she loves to just sit and think. She has a Bachelors in Social Work and worked a year and a half out in the field, before she decided to be a stay at home mom. She has been married for 15 years. Sam and Melissa have two wonderful sons, Samuel 9 and Marcos 6.
Her husband is a loving, spiritual man, who has taught her courage and that change is really possible. In her life, she has learned to trust in God and seek his guidance in everything she does. She is convinced that in doing that, the results will always be according to his plan. Next to God, her family means everything to Melissa. They pray together, eat together, and have fun together. Her children have changed her life so completely, that she never knew she could love so much. Like all parents, she wants the best for them, including a better world. However, that is only possible if God is in it.
